What makes us different from other little dance classes?  all of our WLDA pupils begin as babies, as young as 2 years old, and continue through our academy to adulthood. Growing physically and mentally, whilst developing technique, confidence, agility, discipline, social kindness and performance quality and making wonderful friendships that last a lifetime.

Our studio is safe
The New  WDLA Dance Annex Next to Chiswick Methodist Church, Sutton Court Road,  Chiswick W44LN, has now been refurbished and completed to a high standard with sprung floor, mirrors, ballet barres, waiting area, cloakroom, homework hub and out door area.
It is cleaned thoroughly in between classes and intensively at the end of day.
Our teachers have undergone the Covid -19 Health and Safety , First Aid, and Prevention of Virus Spreading Courses. We have new Risk Assessments in place and have updated our safe guarding policies .
All of our classes are small with quality teaching so it is easier for us to operate with the new Government Guidelines and Safety Measures in place and adhere to social distancing .

We stand by our commitment to keep all pupils, safely dancing and will continue to upgrade or ease our safety regulations, in-line with Government Guidelines.

The Pandemic has had a significant impact on all children and adults.

We are so pleased to be re-opening for everyone and will continue to support all pupils and their parents health and general well being.

We are so excited to be  back to physical classes in our very own brand new premises and can‘t wait to see you all soon!

Our Mission
At West London Dance academy we focus on nurturing little ones to grow into confident dancers. Our main objective is to conduct small classes with unmatched expertise and affordable tuition. We want to inspire good technique and progression in a safe, lively and fun environment. In every class, we make sure all students understand the enjoyment, passion and fitness that all forms of dance can bring.

Babies and Pre School classes are designed to introduce little ones to the magic of dance with the basics of ballet , standing in positions, skipping, jumping, pointing toes, walking on tip toes, balancing including lots of fun and musical mime.

Prep & Primary Ballet & Tap classes for ages 4 to 8 years are for the beginners that may want to take dance a little more seriously but still with the fun and imagination element . Pupils are given the opportunity to take their first ever ballet & tap examinations under the IDTA like our big boys and girls .
Junior and senior school classes  We offer a Full Timetable of Ballet, Tap & Contemporary Modern Jazz . We are an IDTA & ISTD Accredited Dance School.

Many of our past pupils are  dancing professionally or training at full-time professional dance schools such as The Royal Ballet School, Arts Education and Tring Park . Others are fully qualified dance teachers having trained on our WLDA Intensive Dance Teachers Programme (please see our Dance Teacher Training Programme pageand are now running dance schools of their own. We have a History of 100 % pass rates in IDTA Examinations always achieving Distinctions and Merits many of our pupils have been nominated by examiners for the International Awards in Manchester. Only 500 pupils are nominated each year out of 7500 in the UK and Abroad .

The Academy has put on two successfully acclaimed large scale performances (please see our show page ) The Nutcracker and Alice in The Greatest Wonderland , each received a standing ovation from the audience and outstanding comments from professional dancing and acting critics.

Our Principal Miss Natalie has been dancing professionally, running dance schools and training dance teachers all over England and abroad for 30 years and still teaches at all of our branches. Miss Natalie started Teaching at the  academy in 2011 and took over as Principal in 2016.
Miss Natalie says " after 10 years with the Academy I have seen many cygnets grow into swans!  along with watching wonderful friendships  develop amongst my dancers , from babies to adulthood, and feel privileged to be part of their amazing journey in life” . (see Principal page)

What Parents, Pupils and Teachers are saying about our Academy:

“Really impressed and pleased with the baby ballet class - Lana spent most of the afternoon dancing a real pleasure to see her so happy. I think this will be invaluable for a toddler that is very introverted “ Taj - Lana’s mum. (Babies Ballet)

“This class is worth every penny Edith loves her ballet “ Claire - Edith’s mum (Babies Ballet)

After Leila’s first show experience at 4 years old - Thank you for such an amazing show ! ..we are immensely proud that Leila is part of such a brilliant dance school.  Amanda - Leila‘s proud mum (Preparatory Ballet)

Congrats on a FAB show, it was amazing from start to finish and I loved every dance and all of the costumes . They were so colourful and imaginative and the storyline was brilliant . Flora loved being part of it as did we all love watching it ! “ Imelda Flora’s mum -( Tiny Tapper )

“I’d like to feedback to you that we think the class is lovely - well structured with a lot of useful content to develop strength, balance and coordination. In just 4 weeks Babies Ballet has helped Margot learn to jump with both feet lifted from the floor (something we’ve been working on for a long time) and tiptoe. She has also picked up some of the sequences, initiating practicing them at home“. Ruth Margot’s Mum - (Babies Ballet )

Latest News from the Academy
Exams
The Academy generally enters pupils for 3 exam sessions a year under the International Dance Teachers Association. We have a History of 100% pass rate with pupils achieving as high as 98% in professional vocational exams.
Last year proved very difficult as two of our exam sessions were cancelled due to Covid but luckily after a very difficult Lock down, we are extremely proud of our pupils who finally got to take their IDTA exams in November 2020. All grade pupils achieved merits and distinctions and our vocational students did really well in the intermediate professional ballet exams along with Miss Francesca Di Bella who achieved 93% in her Level 4 Teaching Diploma in Ballet .
Miss Francesca originally from Italy is another Teacher who has successfully qualified on our Intensive Teacher Training Course and is now teaching in professional dance schools.
for more info see our Intensive Teacher Training School page

So Proud Of Another Successful Exam Session
On May 23rd 2021 all pupils took their IDTA Ballet and Tap exams in a 10 hour long session.
Having trained mostly on-line in the months beforehand, they still managed to achieve all Merits and Distinctions along with all 4 Senior Intermediate Students achieving Distinctions in their Professional Vocational Ballet exams.
Miss Natalie commented "Every pupil came out of the studio exhausted having danced their absolute best all were polite to the examiner , well behaved in the waiting area and an absolute credit to the Academy, after everything they had been through I could not have asked for anything more as their Principal".

WLDA 15th Birthday Celebrations
2021 will mark the anniversary of West London Dances Academy's 15th year .
Having been established since 2006 and achieved many successions to become “one of the most prestigious dance schools in the heart of West london”, we are planning to celebrate with a small scale recorded performance, along with an outdoor celebration in our grounds for pupils and parents (weather and restrictions permitting) and have chosen to tell our story through Dance....
We can't wait! ...

Outstanding Commitment from the Academy
With every Government lock down we have quickly reverted to on-line classes. We have had so much fun, learnt lots of new technical skills to enhance our dancing and have been committed to keeping ourselves physically and mentally active through Dance.

Our On-line Zoom classes have included: Ballet, Tap , Contemporary Modern jazz , Lyrical Dance, Boogie Imagination Skills , Story Time , Colouring, Competitions and Fun free Friday Stretch & Street Classes and Teacher Training . We have performed an On-line performance for parents along with a family competition.

We will continue to offer on-line classes when needed
Considering how popular our On-Line classes have been, we have now decided to keep the option available for pupils who are unable to attend face-to-face classes, to have the opportunity to join their class from their home by using a simple link.

We will continue to have our Teacher Training Courses available for busy dancers to attend on-line. Some of our Teachers in Training are living abroad and may not be able to travel until restrictions ease so this is a great way to continue training.
(please see our Dance Teacher Training Programme page)

All courses are adapted to work around your busy schedule and can be attended intensively to qualify quickly or at a steady pace .

We also offer on-line training to help pupils who may live further afield and may not be able to attend our regular sessions or for those training abroad .

The courses include all units of International Dance Teachers Association Level 4 Diploma or Association qualifications in Dance Teaching for Ballet or Contemporary Modern Jazz.

We have had many pupils qualify though are intensive courses all with over 90% Distinction. Here are some of our latest successful students who trained under our Bespoke Teacher Training Schemes .
Natalie Dungan achieved 95% Distinction in her IDTA level 4 Diploma in Ballet after attending one of our Intensive Dance Teacher Training Courses in 2018. Natalie now has a dance school of her own and has just opened a brand new studio called ND Studios in West Yorkshire.

Francesca Di Bella attended a Teacher Training Course under a 1 Year Scholarship with the Academy in 2019. Francesca completed her Scholarship in October 2020 with 93% Distinction in IDTA Level 4 Diploma in Ballet, she has since gone on to train in ISTD and is working as Teacher in various Dance Schools around London. Francesca is originally from Italy . Our Scholarship course allows pupils to train and qualify with the Academy for a year at no cost to themselves and gain first had Teaching Experience whilst assisting within the Academy.

Annie Tran Trained with the Academy since the age of 3 years. After completing all of her  Grades in Ballet and Contemporary Modern Jazz and being nominated 3 times for the International Dance Awards along with achieving 3rd place in the South East and London Classical Ballet Awards in 2017 . Annie is one of the Youngest to have taken this grade under the IDTA at just 16 years old and is now taking a well deserved break in order to prepare for A levels and university .

Jennifer Callie lives in France and trained with the Academy in on an on-line Intensive Teacher Training Course she took her Associate Ballet and her Associate Contemporary Modern Jazz exam via recording in March and achieved 95% Distinction in both . Associate is equivalent to Level 4 Diploma for oversees students.

All 4 students are a credit to the Academy and here's what they have to say about their time spent with us:

“I cannot thank Miss Natalie enough for all of the hard work and belief she put into me throughout my training, I have had the most wonderful experience when training for my first dance teaching qualifications and as a result of my training with Miss Natalie, I was able to achieve 95% Distinction for the IDTA Level 4 Diploma in Professional Dance Teaching Qualification. I now feel I have the Confidence and all of the tools I need to continue my career as a Dance Teacher ."

"I feel a grew so much as a Teacher whilst completing my Scholarship at the Academy and the support and encouragement given to me throughout my training from Miss Natalie meant so much to me,  enabling  me to feel confident enough to take my teaching qualification after just 1 year. Some of my training was spent on-line due to Covid Lock-down restrictions but this still enabled me to receive 1-1 expertise tuition from Miss Natalie and she constantly marked theory and practical work via live video calls and advised via email and text all the way through my training whilst on-line and face to face. Having been given the chance to work at the Academy and guided by  Miss Natalie  and watching her teach gave me the experience and confidence to see myself as a better teacher and I developed some lovely relationships with the students."

"I live in France and trained in ballet I decided to become a Teacher and would like to eventually do some teaching in England. I feel happy to have found Miss.Natalie on a visit to her home in France, having met her once I could not wait to start my training as a teacher with her. Miss Natalie has challenged  me throughout my training on-line .  I have been lucky to teach some her  on-line children's classes for experience and although all of my training  has been On-line from England to France  she has motivated me, and given me so much experience, knowledge and confidence . I am overwhelmed with my results and I am forever Grateful"

"I have loved all of my years at the Academy and really enjoyed starring in many performances . I really miss my training with Miss Natalie and assisting in the classes . I miss all of the little ones and can't wait to see them all again soon."

If you are interested in training to be a Professional Dance Teacher or Progressing your Ballet Technique as an Adult dancer please contact Miss Natalie here via email.
