ITV Ant & Dec Visit Our Studio
On Tuesday 8th February 2022 ITV icons Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly came to WLDA Studio in order to rehearse for their ITV Saturday Night Takeaway ‘End of the Show Show’ The famous duo Ant & Dec tottered around in high heels as they learnt to walk and dance with the famous Drag Queen Artist James Lee Williams known as ‘The Vivienne‘ from BBC‘s RuPaul Drag Race. Principal Miss Natalie had to keep it very quiet until it was aired on ITV .
It was great fun, with clips played on instagram, and the pair were kind enough to pose for a photo with Miss Natalie in the studio . ITV have promised to revisit deciding that the dance studio is in a perfect private location being close to ITV studios and local for quite a few celebrities.

WLDA 15th Birthday Celebrations
Having been established since 2006 and achieved many successions to become “one of the most prestigious dance schools in the heart of West London”, they celebrated with a small scale recorded performance telling their story through Dance. All 100 pupils received balloons, cake and a special present from their Principal Miss Natalie for their outstanding commitment to the Academy.
Many tears were also shed as the Academy and Principal said Goodbye to some of their longest standing senior pupils as they left to head off to university . Miss Natalie said "It was a lovely day, although a sad one too. We are so proud of all of our Senior Students as they start their new journeys, some of whom have attended the academy since the age of 4 years and are now 18 and have qualified as Professional Vocational Dance students with Distinctions we will miss them all .. but our door will always be open for them to revisit their WLDA family...

So Proud Of Another Successful Exam Session
On May 23rd 2021 all pupils took their IDTA Ballet and Tap exams in a 10 hour long session.
Having trained mostly on-line in the months beforehand, they still managed to achieve all Merits and Distinctions along with all 4 Senior Intermediate Students achieving Distinctions in their Professional Vocational Ballet exams.
Miss Natalie commented "Every pupil came out of the studio exhausted having danced their absolute best all were polite to the examiner , well behaved in the waiting area and an absolute credit to the Academy, after everything they had been through I could not have asked for anything more as their Principal".

Outstanding Commitment from the Academy
With every Government lock down we have quickly reverted to on-line classes. We have had so much fun, learnt lots of new technical skills to enhance our dancing and have been committed to keeping ourselves physically and mentally active through Dance.

Our On-line Zoom classes have included: Ballet, Tap , Contemporary Modern jazz , Lyrical Dance, Boogie Imagination Skills , Story Time , Colouring, Competitions and Fun free Friday Stretch & Street Classes and Teacher Training . We have performed an On-line performance for parents along with a family competition.

We will continue to offer on-line classes when needed
Considering how popular our On-Line classes have been, we have now decided to keep the option available for pupils who are unable to attend face-to-face classes, to have the opportunity to join their class from their home by using a simple link.

One of our students who has been with the Academy since the age of 4 years, moved to Switzerland in 2021. She now remains attending her Intermediate Vocational Ballet class with us, every Saturday, Via Zoom, and sometimes comes to take part in a live class when she is visiting London.

We will continue to have our Teacher Training Courses available for busy dancers to attend on-line. Some of our Teachers in Training are living abroad and may not be able to travel until restrictions ease so this is a great way to continue training.
(please see our Dance Teacher Training Programme page)
